Shirodhara
 

Is a form of Ayurveda medicine that involves gently pouring liquids over the forehead (the 'third eye'). It was developed by vaidyas (practitionars of Ayurveda) in Kerala, India for use in sukhachikitsa (restorative therapy) and can be one of the steps involved in Panchakarma. The name comes from the Sanskrit words shiras 'head' and dhara 'flow'. The liquids used in shirodhara depend on what is being treated, but can include oil, milk, buttermilk, coconut water, or even plain water.

Shirodhara has been used to treat a variety of conditions including eye diseases, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, graying of hair, neurological disorders, memory loss, insomnia, hearing impairment, tinnitus, vertigo, Ménière's disease and certain types of skin diseases like psoriasis. It is also used non-medicinally at spas for its relaxing properties

 

PINDA SWEDA
 

This therapy is done after Abhyanga (Ayurvedic Massage) or during Panchakarma and consists of scrubbing warm boluses (prepared with herbs, milk, rice and other grains) over your entire body using specific strokes. It improves blood circulation and muscle tone, strengthens digestion and restores vigor to all your bodily tissues. Pinda Sweda is beneficial in degenerative conditions and can help the body rebuild muscular tissues. Done in a series, it is traditionally used for many neurological and neuromuscular disorders, including MS, Parkinson's, as well as many serious imbalances, and to promote vitality and longevity. Pinda Sweda is recommended at least once a year to preserve health and delay aging.

Shirsha Abhyanga
 

Head massage with selected herbal oils promotes hair growth, relieves symptoms of stress and provides a sense of deep relaxation and tranquility. Head massage leads to correct balance in the immune system and hormones.

VASHPA SWEDA (Herbal Steam Bath)
 

As many as 6 fresh herbs and 12 dried herbs make up the boiling pot which produces the steam for this remedy. It opens the capillaries and tissue crevices to induce sweating and excrete waste matter.

AVAGAHANA SWEDA (Herbal Water Bath)
 
A warm herbal bath to relax tension, purify the system, alleviate pain and for general well-being.
